Hands-on Workshop on Orange Data Mining Software
In order to provide students with the hands-on skills necessary for data analytics and research, COER University held an immersive hands-on workshop on Orange Data Mining Software. Visual programming and interactive data analysis are made possible by Orange, a potent open-source tool. Students used Orange's user-friendly drag-and-drop interface to apply machine learning models and work on real-world case studies during the course. Participants gained knowledge on how to efficiently use classification, regression, and clustering techniques as well as import datasets, preprocess data, and show patterns. Students were able to observe end-to-end data processing operations because the course was hands-on. An interactive Q&A session promoted dialogue, provided professional advice to address challenging analytical issues, and clarified concepts. In addition to improving students' ability to comprehend data and make decisions, the program also improved their capacity to apply analytical solutions in both professional and academic study. Their technical toolset in the areas of analytics and data science benefited greatly from it.

Workshop on “Data Science Using R”
Assistant Professor Dr. Suyash Bhardwaj from GKU, Haridwar, presented an informative workshop on "Data Science Using R" at COER University. The wide-ranging uses of deep learning in industries like media, security, healthcare, and finance were the main topic of the talk. According to Dr. Bhardwaj, machine learning is a technique for identifying patterns in data and forecasting results. He illustrated how past data influences future forecasts using a real-world credit risk analysis instance. Additionally, the workshop examined several stages of data mining, dataset classification, and the practical applications of deep learning. Students learned a lot about how R can be used to create prediction models and address challenging data science challenges.
Workshop on “Understanding Python with Data Science & Machine Learning”
The COER University College of Smart Computing hosted an educational workshop on "Python with Data Science & Machine Learning" on May 3, 2023. The corporate trainer from CETPA InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Saurav Kumar, led the session. In addition to teaching students the basics of Python programming, the workshop sought to introduce them to important ideas in data science and machine learning. In addition to discussing new, significant applications including recommendation systems, image recognition, and predictive analytics, Mr. Kumar outlined the practical importance of machine learning in contemporary sectors. Through hands-on exercises and interactive talks, students developed a fundamental grasp of how Python may be used for data analysis, machine learning model building, and problem solving. The training significantly improved their preparedness for data-driven fields.
Workshop on Bootstrap
An interactive Bootstrap session was conducted by Mr. Hemendra Shanker Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of CSA, at COER University on August 27, 2022. Bootstrap 5, a potent front-end framework for creating mobile-first and responsive websites, was the main topic of the talk. To construct interactive web pages, students learned how to use new user interface elements like modals, cards, buttons, tabs, navbars, and grid layouts. By providing them with knowledge relevant to the industry and the capacity to effectively create responsive, aesthetically beautiful websites using Bootstrap, the workshop intended to improve students' practical skills in modern web development and UI design.


Industrial Visit to Cyber Cell, Uttarakhand Police, Dehradun
The Uttarakhand Police Cyber Cell in Dehradun was the site of an informative industry tour arranged by the Department of Cyber Security at COER University. This learning program sought to increase students' comprehension of practical cyber security procedures. Throughout the visit, students learned about the newest tools in digital forensics, incident response, legal processes, and cybercrime investigation. Students' understanding of new cyberthreats and law enforcement cooperation was raised by the insightful remarks and case studies provided by Cyber Cell experts. In order to connect academic understanding with real-world experience in the subject of cyber security, the visit was essential.
Industrial visit to Information Technology Development Agency (I.T.D.A), Dehradun, (Govt. of Uttarakhand)
On 17th August 2023, the Cyber Security, College of Smart Computing, COER University organized an Industrial visit to Information Technology Development Agency (I.T.D.A) in Dehradun. The visit was aimed at providing the students with an opportunity to gain practical insights into the workings of a successful IT company, its operations and the technology being used. The industrial visit aimed to provide students with a firsthand experience of the technological advancements and practical applications in the field of information technology and cyber security.

Hackathon-2023
As a regular traditional practice, COER University organized a two-day Hackathon on April 5th and 6th, 2023. The event aimed to foster collaboration and innovation among participants, allowing them to tackle real-world challenges using cutting-edge technologies like AI, IoT, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Big Data, and Cloud Computing. Teams of 4-7 members from 1st to 4th year participated, showcasing their creativity, technical skills, and teamwork.
Invited Expert Lecture on “Logic Based Explainable AI”
An invited expert lecture on the topic “Logic Based Explainable AI” has been organized by UETR on the following dates: 30thNovember 2022. The lecture was delivered by an eminent and internationally recognized personality Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Gupta ERIC Jonsson Chair at University of Texas Dallas (USA). The objective of the invited lecture was to get acquainted with the latest trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Guest Lecture on Ambiguous D-means fusion clustering algorithm based on ambiguous set theory
Special application in clustering of CT scan images of COVID-19: On March 24th, 2023, an online guest lecture was held on the topic Ambiguous D-means fusion clustering algorithm based on ambiguous set theory. The lecture focused on the special application of the algorithm in clustering CT scan images of COVID-19. The lecture was conducted by Dr. Pitpal Singh, Department of Data Science and Analytics Central University of Rajasthan. The objective of the invited lecture was to get acquainted with the latest trends in the machine learning field.
One Day Seminar on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking
The Department of Cyber Security at COER University organized a Research Seminar on "Emerging Trends and Applications in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)" on September 29, 2023, at the Computing Block. The seminar featured a distinguished Resource Person, Prof. (Dr.) Tanupriya Choudhury, Professor Research at Symbiosis International University, Pune. The seminar aimed to provide insights into the evolving field of Human-Computer Interaction and explore its diverse applications. Prof. Tanupriya Choudhury, an eminent authority in HCI, delivered an enlightening and engaging presentation that captivated the audience's attention.
5-Day Computing Fest by IITians
From March 11th to 15th, 2024, COER University hosted a dynamic 5-Day Computing Fest organized by IITians. Prashant Jindal, a 2017 IIT Roorkee graduate and Founder of Exploring Academy, along with Ram Bansal, a 2019 IIT Roorkee graduate and Co-Founder, spearheaded the event. The fest featured an array of workshops covering coding, drone making, IoT, and the latest technologies. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions, learning from industry experts and honing their skills in cutting-edge fields. Additionally, motivational talks inspired attendees to pursue their passions and embrace innovation. The fest served as a platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and empowerment in the field of computing.

B.Tech. courses offered in VR/AR, Gaming, VFX and others are itself a part of universitys' step involving student’s engagement and developing problem solving skills by linking these to the fields of Medical, Architecture, Business Studies and other fields of education.

Developing Problem-Solving Skills through Technology
Advanced Computing labs, Center of Excellence Labs, COER Incubation center and other labs offer multiple simulation and modeling tools, which are key ways to enhance the problem solving skills of the students. These tools allow students to simulate real-world scenarios and experiment with different solutions, helping them develop critical thinking and analytical skills. For example, engineering students can use simulation software to design and test prototypes, while business students can use modeling tools to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Use of platforms such as Google Docs, Google classrooms and Microsoft Teams have facilitated collaborative projects among students by allowing students to work together in real-time, regardless of their physical location, fostering teamwork and collaboration skills.

International Yoga Day: 6/21/2023
Every year on June 21st, the world observes International Yoga Day, a global campaign to promote the comprehensive advantages of yoga in fostering mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. In celebration of this day, COER University hosts awareness campaigns, expert-led seminars, yoga classes, and meditation workshops. In order to embrace the values of balance and harmony, staff, instructors, and students actively take part in these events. These gatherings promote mindfulness, self-control, and inner calm among the college community by inspiring people to take up yoga as a daily practice in addition to promoting healthy living.
National Yoga Championship 2023
On September 29, COER University proudly sponsored the National Yoga Championship 2023, which brought together gifted yogis from all over the nation. Through a series of difficult poses, participants demonstrated their strength, flexibility, focus, and controlled breathing. Yoga was highlighted at the occasion as a unifying exercise that benefits the body and the mind. The championship honored yoga's cultural significance and holistic advantages with fervent participation and a culture of good rivalry. It provided a motivating forum to encourage youth awareness, discipline, and wellness, reaffirming COER's dedication to building a well-rounded and health-conscious community.

RUNN- Annual sports festival
COER University proudly hosts its annual sports fest called “RUNN”. The campus gets alive with the spirit of athleticism and camaraderie as students, faculty, and staff come together to participate in a variety of sporting events. From track and field to football, basketball to badminton, RUNN-2023 offered something for everyone. Athletes showcased their skills and sportsmanship, competing with passion and determination. Spectators cheered on their peers, creating an electrifying atmosphere throughout the festival. RUNN is a celebration of physical fitness, teamwork, and the vibrant community spirit that defines COER University.

Traffic Rules Awareness
COER University conducted a seminar on "Traffic Rules," emphasizing the importance of road safety and responsible driving practices. The seminar aimed to educate students, faculty, and staff about traffic regulations, road signs, and best practices for ensuring safe travel on the roads. Experts in road safety and law enforcement delivered informative presentations, highlighting common traffic violations, the consequences of reckless driving, and measures to prevent accidents. Mentor-Mentee System
Mentors are student-centric teacher- friends who help young adult learners in their transitory phases and challenging times. It is based on mutual trust and respect. It has been introduced for obtaining a holistic assessment of the learners’ performance and providing inclusive spaces for growth and development. Mentors apply their guidance, experience and expertise in promoting their mentees professionally and personally, through interpersonal engagement.
Anti Drug Movement
On October 23rd, 2023, COER University held an Anti Drug Movement aimed at educating youth about the dangers of drug use. This event featured informative talks and awareness campaigns. COER University's commitment to its students' well-being was evident through this initiative.

Parent-Teacher Meeting
COER University hosts Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) twice each semester, which are vital for discussing not only academic progress but also students' mental health. Counselors, mentors, and the student welfare team facilitate discussions, offering insights into emotional well-being and educating on mental health signs. Parents also contribute insights, not only regarding academic concerns but also their wards' health and well-being. These collaborative efforts create a supportive environment, enhancing students' overall well-being.
