Our Inspiration

Shri Seth Roshan Lal Ji, born in 1917 in Khekra, Uttar Pradesh, engaged in his family's khadi business and gained widespread recognition as "Seth Ji" Beyond his business pursuits, he was a revered scholar of Jain philosophy. His unwavering support and emotional anchor was his wife, Smt. Taravati Jain. Together, they embarked on a mission to establish Jain Institutions in Khekra. Renowned for their commitment to spreading compassion to both humans and other living organisms, the couple shared a vision of creating institutions dedicated to providing value-based education.

In honor of late Seth Roshan Lal Jain and Smt. Tarawati Jain, their son Shri Jinesh Chand Jain, along with his wife Smt. Sunita Jain, established Seth Roshan Lal Jain Trust. Under this trust, College of Engineering Roorkee (which is now upgraded to COER University) was established in 1998. This trust stands as a testament to their dedication, aiming to promote technical education across North India. The legacy of Shri Seth Roshan Lal Ji and his wife lives on through this trust, reflecting their enduring commitment to education and community welfare. The trust embodies their vision of fostering educational values and making a lasting impact on the region's technical education landscape.
