Biography

Dr. Prabhat Kumar is presently working as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department, Civil Engineering at the COER University Roorkee.

Before joining the COER University, Dr. Kumar worked as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, India from July, 2012 to November, 2018 for 6.5 Years. He has total academics experience of 11 years and 5 months.

He has guided Eleven (11) M.Tech (Structural Engineering) dissertations and more than Twenty (20) B.Tech (Civil Engg.) projects. He has taught several core courses like Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Resistant Design of Buildings, Structural Analysis I and II, Design of Reinforced Structures, Computer Aided Design of Structures, Finite Element Methods, Strength of Materials, Design of Steel Structures, Soil-Structural Interaction, Engineering Seismology, Elastic and Plastic Analysis, Numerical Methods for Dynamic Systems, Seismic Hazard Assessment and Disaster Management at UG and PG Levels.

He has published 19 research papers (6 papers in SCI/Scopus/UGC Indexed Journal) in National/International journals/conferences with high repute. Also he has published one book on “Fundamentals of AI and Deep Learning” Scientific International Publishing House in 2023. His research area is multidisciplinary which includes Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures, Seismic Response Evaluation of Structures, Seismic Evaluation and Retrofitting of Structures, Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction, Effect of Soil on Seismic Performance of Buildings and Towers, Slope-Building Interaction under Seismic Action, Engineering Seismology and Seismo-tectonics, Strong Motion Studies, Soil-Structure Interaction, Seismic Hazard Assessment and Simulation of Seismic Loads.
