Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)

The institution is highly committed towards community and rural engagement and participates in development. As a part of institution’s social responsibility the following are the major distinctive areas where the institution shows commitments towards societal contribution and nation building.

Scholarships

As a part of social responsibility, the institution provides various scholarships for the students. Free Education (First Generation Under Privileged Students), 100% Merit Scholarship, 50% Merit Scholarship, Sports Concession, Management Sponsorships, Alumni Concession, MBA Merit Concession, Educational Opportunity Grants, Staff Concession to pursue research are provided.

Extension beyond Curriculum

Moral, social and ethical values are inculcated in students with a vision to accentuate social responsibility, promote societal-contribution as an outcome of education and ensure voluntary participation of students in various clubs and associations. Through various clubs and associations activities, the institution attempts to instil social awareness, civic sense and concern for the environment.

Earn and Learn Scheme

This scheme helps financially weak students to earn while they learn. The task assigned in the learn and earn scheme relates to library work and maintaining the library staff records.

Community Engagement

In connection with ISR, the institution has carried out various activities for the welfare of the society through Students Clubs including ECO Club, Women Empowerment Cell, Consumer Club, Department Associations and UBA in the institution. Faculty members and students are encouraged to carry out social outreach programmes.

Under UBA, four villages are named, Badheri Rajputan, Bharapur, Nasir Pur Kala. Students under the guidance of faculty members have performed many outreach activities in these villages including awareness program against Dengue, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, participating in events at IIT Roorkee.

Eco-Centric

The institution has a green policy to promote green environment such as energy conservation, rain water harvesting, usage of LEB bulbs, Tree plantation, awareness programmes etc. Green initiatives have been implemented in the institution as a part of the culture of Uttarakhand. Tree plantation drive on Harel Parv is a tradition of COER University.
